Are feeling unsafe, distressed or worried about your mental health and wellbeing and live in Norfolk or Suffolk? First Response is a 24/7 helpline that offers immediate advice, support and signposting for those with mental health difficulties – call the helpline on 0808 196 3494.

Who can call?

Anyone can call the helpline. It is open to members of the public who are of any age, regardless of whether they are an existing Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust service user.

Response Line for Professionals

A dedicated line for professionals has recently been launched too. It ensures that those needing advice, when working with individuals who are experiencing mental health difficulties, can access help and support in a timelier way.

Healthcare professionals such as ambulance staff, GPs, social care colleagues and police officers and third sector partners may need advice when they are working with individuals who are undergoing mental health challenges.

What happens when I call?

Your call will be answered by a professional mental health practitioner who will listen to your concerns and get you the support you need. Would you prefer to remain anonymous? You can turn off your caller ID in your settings so the person answering doesn’t know your number.
